1 week

Little E has been extra lovey since my 1 week stint of work.
I am really trying hard to find evening work so they can have mommy or
daddy with them at all times.
I have to admit that was the worst week of my life.
Being a stay at home mom is by far most the hardest job I have ever done.
Example.
Right now I have a sick 4 and 5 year old, both running fevers and one of them decided to upchuck his lunch...while eating lunch.
Yeah no fun.
Yet, tell me why I was more than happy to be the one cleaning him up, telling him it was going to be okay, then pulling out my trusty shampooer to clean up the messy carpet?

Maybe in the past I had in some way taken for granted the opportunity I have been given.

This past week I volunteered for Zenny's class field trip and E and I took a trip to the market.
With Zenny we watched a play together and we sat side by side under the trees at the park to have lunch with A LOT of kinder kiddos.
I was freezing my bottom off but that was A-Okay.

On our grocery trip E insisted on sacking all the fruit we bought at the store.
He wanted apples and more apples, he said he wants to make applesauce.
So we picked all kinds of apples so we can tie on our aprons and get to work this coming week (pics to follow).

I have been so happy this week words can not express.
Nope, no sleeping in, woke up the same time I did when I had to get to work.
On my feet all day?
Absolutely.
Do I get to watch Oprah?
Nope, I DVR and at that never really get to catch up.
But I was able to make hot breakfasts for my boys, watch Zenny walk to class, Watch E flash a winning good-bye grin at me as he settled in class, picked up BOTH my kids from school and really enjoyed my day, watching, playing, reading, cleaning and cooking for my family.

I truly am the Cook, Maid, Driver, after school care, and all those wonderful things wrapped into one.

I don't get paid, I have no vacations, and have no adult conversations aside from knowing what Diego did on television, yet there is no better place I would be during the day..... no better place.

Times a flyin'

Woof time flies!
The saying is "Time flies when your having fun", but I'm not having fun so I don't know what happened there.

I haven't had much time to blog, because sadly I haven't had much time with my boys which both stressed me out and depressed me.
I didn't have time for my boys because I started working full time.
So I "Had" a job, now I don't (for unfortunate circumstances) and am once again on the job hunt.
This time I'm looking for an night shift.
Where I can be with my monkey's all day and work when Nick gets home.
He hates the idea but hates the idea of me being heartbroken because I can't be with the kids.
Sleep???
Who needs it when you have two crazy monkeys all over ya!
Seriously it will work out...sigh...we will all overcome this crazy recession...but when??

Sweets for the Sweet.

Valentines Day.
What a better way to say...."Your Special", to a teacher but
with a nice plate of chocolate brownies.

The boys were tickled to see the heart shaped stencil (made out of recycled foil) used to decorate the plate of goodies.
(Foil idea from Africankelli blog, I love her blog.)

Now I am off to help an excited Kinder class with their Valentines party...wish me luck!

Have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Generations

Once again we took a trip to the Lake.
I love how it makes one forget the woes of everyday life.
While the guys did their guy thing, I couldn't help but want to capture 3 generations of Corkill's picking rocks and skipping stones.

They made lovely and patient subjects. I guess they really didn't mind since as you can see they didn't really know.
Or could be they are just down right used to having their pictures taken.
