Nick and I are two of a kind!
We love movies some would describe as "different", love anime, watching child hood cartoons and super heroes turned into movies and our secret addiction....Movie Trailers.
We have loved movie trailers as of forever.
We even DVR a segment called "Nothing but Trailers" and actually unwind at night watching a butt load of these DVR'd Segments.
ABC has been showing trailers of their Fall Line up and they look pretty darn good.
I love ones we mom's can relate to.
This one I can already relate to the dryer AND hearing "Mom, Mom, Mom"....seriously when do they learn the word "Dad"?
To watch another goody trailer check out my other blog, its worth the watch.
3 rowdy boys, housework, night school and losing my mind one day at a time.....follow me on my journey.

Tea Party.
I've been a bad, uncreative mom this summer.
I usually have plans, lists and goals. Imaginative play, walks around the neighborhood to see what we can find, and lots of crafts. Well I've been a dud of a mom. Busy with so many things yet it really weighs on my mind that I have been so laid back. So when little E layed out the blanket and said he was having a tea party I went with it.
I pulled out their plates and cups and he did the rest.
He's been doing tea parties for like a year now, we tried telling him girls had tea parties and boys had picnics. He looked sad.
To heck with it boys have tea parites too!!
But why can't I find a boyish tea set??
Well Ikea plates help and we don't use a tea kettle we use a water jug but E and Z don't care they love it.
Piggy waiting for a cup of tea from the jug....today's pretend tea was strawberry tea, E's favorite.

Bennett needed a refill.

A tea party isn't a tea party for Z without his spider-man. We ran out of plates Z said he could share.
See they even have napkins for their party....Star-Wars Napkins thanks to yours truly :)

Since it was almost lunch time I cut up some turkey and cheese, placed some yogurt and crackers and let them go at it.

Yay's and Nay's

Oh Yays are so much nicer.
We took the kids to the zoo and they had a blast!
Here they are checking out a Macaw.

Presley getting some help from her cousin.
Can you see Presley really holding on to her little sis, so glad she did or Piper would of completely slid off.
Another yay is Z's good buddy had a birthday party.
Little E looking so well behaved while Ricardo (b-day boy) opens his gifts.
Z looks like he's oooing at something most likely the big soaker water gun or the transformer those really got him going.

Since the party was sports themed there were tons of sporty things for these boys to do.
They did some football but it wasn't their bag of tea...sorry Nick.
But they really enjoyed T-ball.
The swing set drama. Around Memorial Day weekend the swing set sufferred some Trauma.
As you can see below.

The boys hadn't been able to swing which drove me crazy because that threw us off our routine.
When the sun isn't blazing we go out, boys swing, I sit in "MY" swing that my daddy made me for my birthday :) I swing, they swing we all swing.
And well I wouldn't even really let the boys out in fear they'd mess with the set and hurt themselves.
But dear Pops came to the rescue!
But dear Pops came to the rescue!
TA DA!!!!

He ran out of screws so its missing a step but I am so happy...we can swing again.
I'm super proud of Nick he's self taught himself so much, I'm VERY proud to call him my hubby.
Well then again he does have a great Pops himself who's super handy too :), then again I do too...does that mean our boys will be super duper handy? I think so.
THE NAYS:
Well just one big Nay, my beloved dryer died yesterday. Well it might be more like in ICU, it's heating but not spinning.
I'm going to keep this to myself for now. I don't want to burden poor Nick with more woes.
I do laundry while he works so he won't be the wiser. I'll tell him when the time is right.
Poor guy, he needs a break, in the meantime I will use my clothes line and maybe give us some much needed relief in the electric bill department.
Now if only it would not rain so we could swing AND have clean laundry.

More Birthday Goodness.
This Texas weather has been a scorcher, which means we've been locked in.
Z & E have had tons of sun this summer and Z needed a sun break.
I'm so scared he'll get that sun allergy he got last year..it was awful!
While suffering a bit from cabin fever and the fact that I have been a bad mom and not too creative this summer, the boys received a package in the mail.
A Birthday package from their Unkie Rob.
Unkie Rob is my bestest of friends and we love him dearly.
He moves a lot and I sure wish they'd move him back to Texas, I will keep wishing upon my star.
Look at all that goodness.
Though so far away does he know his God son or does he know his God son?...check out the message.
* It says on Z's card..."Tell your mom the gifts are for sharing."
Oh Rob you know them well.

Z checking out his birthday card.

The boys received so many arty goodness...I loved it.
One of the goodies was this crazy foam putty stuff.
It entertained the boys for like 2 hours!!
E made a self replica of himself below.

Indoor carpet hockey, super cute concept, they had a blast.
Pops even joined in when he got home.

You did awesome Unkie Rob, Thank you so much for remembering the boys.
We all love and miss you.
The boys wanted say a special thank you to their sweet Uncle.

Z looks super excited E looks like he's asleep :).

Living Large....kind of.
We spent the weekend at a Resort with our cousins, Tonya, John and their little ones, Presley and Piper.
It was REALLY nice.
We had our own room with this nice balcony view below.

The weekend consisted of living in the water, which the kids thought was just great.
E was relaxing when we made them take a break out of the sun.

Tonya and I actually had the kids this particular pool day while the men golfed, afterwards we took them to this cute ice cream place in the middle of a pasture...yes a pasture.

Piper wouldn't jump in the water...she'd slide into her Pops arms.

Whats a pedicure??
That word sounded so foreign to us...we may have enjoyed this "Pedicure" Pre-children....so we had to try it.
Is that sarcasm laid on thick well its the truth!
It was heavenly...though we both agreed we would of loved more massage in the pedi process, but we took what we could that's for sure!
While we gals were pampered the Guys being the Good Daddies that they are took the kids back to the pool, where we were told some grumbled..."Again?", "Oh, but I'm so tired."
Didn't stop them from having a blast when they got there.
Piper wouldn't jump in the water...she'd slide into her Pops arms.
They took turns checking out each others jumps.
There goes Presley.
Over all our trip was VERY nice, as parents we just want to give our children beautiful memories. Hanging with cousins, eating Ice Cream in a cute stand out in the middle of nowhere, and all the love we can muster up for them.
Not to mention this trip offered a new set of golf clubs including bags for the men folk, yup now you know the initial reason for this trip...but aside that, it was fabulous!

"On the Day you were born."
My little Z, where can I begin....where should I begin?
Little Z was born 6 years ago yesterday.
He came a month early..Preterm and he fought his birth all the way.
27 hours to be exact...hmmmm...now I can say, "Do you know how long I labored with you?"
"27 hours...that's how long!"
No on a serious note.
Z has fought some battles in his short 6 years and still fighting.
He's smart, beautiful and I just hope he knows how much we love him and his little brother.
While I was in labor Debbie and Nick were my coaches John sat in the back ground.
A few days after Z was born John gave me a tattered Red Spiral Notebook, inside was a story.
A story of Zenon's birth from his point of view.
From the minute he got the call that my water broke, to the second he held Z in his arms.
I LOVE that book, I cherish it as if it were made of gold.
With Z's learning disability I just waited patiently until I could read him his special story to where he could understand it.
The day came yesterday.
Still all messy and in P.J's I sat with my baby and read him his story.
I will continue this tradition until he no longer wishes to hear it.
Or maybe I will be reading it to him over the phone while he's away at college or while he listens while juggling the phone because he's bottle feeding his own baby.
My mom still calls and sings to me on my birthday...and I'm 32 and look forward to my song every year.
Maybe he too will look forward to his story.
Z, Me and E.
Z loved his chocolate piggy Cake, I made E a Strawberry Monkey cake just so he didn't feel too left out.

To many more blessed birthdays, it has already been such a wonderful journey so far and its only just begun.
