Subtle

Nick and I were cooking together and I was getting some help from Little E.
As I served food onto the boys' plates E watched and reached for both plates.
I said to him "That's okay Z can come for his own plate, let me call him."
E replied "No I take to him mommy, your screaming scares me."
Oh okay.
Mommy forgets she doesn't live in the boonies anymore.
I guess I should work on my calling etiquette.

Heartbroken

Yesterday Z had a field trip to the Arboretum. I make it to every field trip the boys have, only one I didn't make was one to E's Pumpkin patch trip last year and I can't remember why.
Well I never miss a trip and I couldn't make Z's trip yesterday.
E woke up at 10:30 Monday night crying of an ear ache. Not only that but he had nasty gook coming out of his little eyes.
Sigh.
I knew this called for a doctor ASAP.
Z cried in the morning begging me to go, I was so horribly heart broken.
I put 5 dollars in his pocket and told him Mrs.O (my friend Letty and mom to his buddy Ricardo) was going and that cheered him up a bit.
As a parent don't you hate when life throws curve balls at ya?
That's life, I should get myself a mitt.
*** Little E was diagnosed with a double ear infection. I brought him home and pampered him for the rest of the afternoon that's what mommies do best.***

What does one look like???

Many times we've asked what makes a man a good dad?
Better yet a Great one?
What does he look like?

Well here he is.
A hard day at work, exhausted from the heat, dusty and having a heck of a time with his allergies.
Yet, there he is playing with his boys allowing Z to treat him like a jungle gym.

Yup, this is what a great daddy looks like.....EXHAUSTED!

You can't see Little E but he's on the side waiting for his turn.
Poor Pop's poor extremely wonderful Pop's.

Books, ties, pizza boxes, smore's and more!

Z's First Grade class had their "Author's Tea" this past friday.
Z wrote a book titled "My Brother Ethan". It's so sweet and here he's reading Little E his book.

Afterwards Z took his book to the "Book Signing Table" and signed his book for us.
Doesn't he look sharp??

Z stayed home yesterday due to a low grade fever he had Monday, he was pretty cooped up so I made a solar oven with him and Ethan after school.

We cooked us some Smore's.

Of course Ni couldn't have any so she just sat here with Little E and smiled pretty.
Chocolate...big Doggie NO No.

To end our day I grilled outside while Pop's taught the boys some baseball. Little E loved it..sigh I guess he'll want to play that too. He's already hyped up for football this season.
Z's hyped up for naps...just like his Momma and Pop's.

The End.

A week of busy-ness

Where to begin???
Little E had a zoo field trip with his Kinder class.....

Same week Unkie Rob was in town...we had a blast!
Boys tortured him with games of Sorry, Sight word bingo, and Candy Land.
Poor Rob, he was awesome though and played every game, that's why the boys miss him terribly.

Summer is around the corner but we are starting our summer activities already.
Lots of outdoor goodness.
Z discovered playing with hand soap and shaping his fingers into a circle that he can blow bubbles.
So that's what we all did one afternoon.

Nina loved them too!

Bike rides, though they get to overly competitive and start racing.
Here why does it look like they are playing chicken??

Also Z's friend participated in the districts Special Olympics.
We joined his mom to cheer for him. He did Awesome! He won first place.
Way to Go!!

My kiddos, my two legged boys and 4 legged girl.
They love sprinkler's...she does not. She watches from a safe distance.

My little family.

I love this pic, Nina thinks she's a lap dog and that Ethan is delicious.
We have to work on the her thinking he's delicious part.

Target Trip.

After lunch I drove out to Target for some last minute touches for the goodies we have for Teacher Appreciation week.

If you know a teacher thank them, they sure make the world go round.

Well while at Target I saw this young girl looking at the end caps, a young man stood by her and they were trying to figure out what they needed.

I thought to myself, okay their mom will come around the corner uhmmm...NOW!
Nope no mom.
Then I thought....Could they be dating?
They couldn't be married..they look awful young.
Then there as the Pixie blond extended her hand I saw her ring.
They WERE married.
Then I studied them and thought they don't look older than 20 or so.

They looked so happy with their cart full of things a newlywed couple buys when they are moving into their first place....dish rack, towels, broom and mop.

Soon Pixie blond stood there with Long dark hair, dark skin and a back pack purse.
And the filled out boy became tall and lean with chiseled features.
They can't decide on what type of trash can to buy, she's a worry wart who doesn't want their indoor kitties knocking over the garbage can.

He teases her making her laugh, causing her to punch him in the arm.
We too were that young couple once upon a time.

Nick had just turned 21 as we stood there in Targets isle looking at garbage cans for our new apartment, I was 24.

I passed Pixie blond and husky boy as I heard her laugh. I wondered if he teased her too.
I hope one day Pixie blond can stand there looking at a young couple starting out, remembering how that was once her.
And be there 9 years later, happily married, still so much in love, with little ones of her own, a home and a dog.

Enjoy every moment Pixie blond time sure does fly because it feels like only yesterday, I was you.
