I was cleaning around the gardens, tending to my flowers and willing my seeds to sprout.
They boys kept whining and Little E looked like he was about to squish something.
I told him to stop until I could take a looksie...if a spider..by all means please continue.
But it was a ladybug.
I LOVE ladybugs and actually gathered some up at the lake house and brought them home.
They didn't take but this year they bred and came to my little garden or actually they got confused and came to the boys jungle gym.
I gathered one up and tried to explain ladybugs (the little I know).
They were a bit scared and wouldn't let me put one in their hands.
But they loved watching me take ladybugs one by one and place them in the garden.
I hope these little ladies take to my garden and eat those nasty little aphids.
Especially off of my tomato plants.
Oh and how do you stop your kid from wanting to squish everything???

My problem isn't them wanting to squish everything....it's piper wanting to befriend or eat everything. From one extreme to another!
I love ladybugs too! And I LOVE gardening! Our yard is actually looking goo dthis year after years of neglect!
Oh, I was wanting to make a salsa garden...what should I plant? Tomatoes, cilantro, onoins, and what else?
Salsa Garden?? Sounds lovely!
I planted tomatoes, cilantro, basil and have room in my garden and Sarah suggested onions.
I might do that.
Your missing Chile peppers.
I hate to be a copy cat but would you mind?
Salsa garden sounds so pretty.
I'll tell everyone I got the idea from Tonya :)
Girl, go for it! I have been craving salsa like crazy! I told john i wanted a topsy turvey thing (for my tomatoes...as seen on TV, Presley told me about it!) and grow my own stuff so I can make my own salsa. And piper LOVES salsa too!
Dug is the complete opposite...he runs the other way when he sees a bug. He doesn't even have the nerve to squish it!
I'm so glad little E didn't squash that ladybug...I love them too! Yesterday there was a hummingbird looking in my great big kitchen window. I was in awe...then I moved and scared it and it flew away!
The Salsa Garden Idea is awesome...I'm borrowing that idea from your friend too (and I'll give her credit for the idea).
