Exhausted!

No pic's and I'm pretty doggone exhausted.
Little E woke up fever free..yay!
Z went to bed with one..nay.
Both woke up in great spirits, E will go to school tomorrow if he keeps showing signs of Zero fever.
I on the other hand am beyond exhausted.
Like I needed another reason not to catch my Zzzzzz's.
I haven't been sleeping lately.
It's not uncommon for me to suffer bouts of insomnia, but this bout has gone on for a few months it seems.
Funny thing is a article came out around Labor Day weekend in my Runner's magazine about a runner with insomnia, a relative and I both teased that now we were going to become running insomniacs due to this article, like we were brainwashed.

Thing is I was already suffering from lack of sleep....the irony.
I go 2 maybe 4 hours than I just lay there, it's awful.
Even fell asleep one day at 10:20 then woke up at 12:49 and headed to Wal-Mart to pick up some things.
Came home fell asleep for about 2 hours and then I was up to get the boys ready for school.
Sleepless nights are doggone awful.
This is the longest episode I have ever had, I hope it goes away soon or I'll need a wheel barrel to carry my under eye bags!
To healthy boys and more sleep, Oh I need it.

I know it's easier said than done, but could you try a bedtime ritual for yourself? like maybe a bath, hot bedtime tea, and a book or something. Maybe your mind is running running and running causing you from sleeping and you need to wind it down somehow. I hate it when john gets in his insomnia rut. he's a walking zombie when he comes home! I can only imagine how you feel right now. girl....i hope you get some sleep. you may need to visit the herb store for some stuff like valerian root.

Actually I've been doing sleepy time tea with light Agave nectar. I won't drink a caffeinated diet soda at dinner anymore. Thing is I have days where I have no problem falling asleep but I wake up for any little thing! Then I have nights where I'm up until 3 am just staring into space. So frustrating.
It was actually John and I who were teasing about insomnia. I was already having trouble sleeping but I go through that once or twice a year and it only lasts a few weeks tops. Girl its almost been 3 months! I might have to take drastic measures and cut caffeine out of my diet all together, no cherry coke zero, no chocolate, and no sweet tea :(
Going to look into that Valerian Root though.

you know, you are actually suppose to stop drinking caffeine by 2 in the afternoon to get a good nights sleep.

i remember you guys teasing about that. his insomnia bout, i think, is over for the time being.

what time do the boys go to bed? you should try to make a bedtime ritual...try it for a week and see how it goes. i think lavender is suppose to be really sedating....i think they have that in a tea.

i'll do some insomnia googling for you.

Our ritual:
Eat dinner, we do dishes, bathe the kids, read to them, put them in bed by 8:30, I shower and then Nick and I sit side by side watch a movie or our DVR'd shows,I get a foot rub and I'm OUT!
But I wake up 2 hours later, it's so frustrating.
I can usually fall asleep I just can't STAY asleep(then there's days I can't fall asleep)
I was actually starting to catch more sleep before E got sick.
WHY OH WHY?
Also, I've been using a Bath and Body works Lavender "Sleep" aromatherapy lotion thingy.

hmmmm.....try the valerian root!
I use to take it back in the day and never felt "drugged" when I woke up. By "drugged" If you have ever taken anything like Tylenol PM, you'll know what I mean. You wake up horribly. The valerian root just felt like I got a good nap.

Liza, what I do when I wake up thinking about "stuff" is to just say Thank you Lord over and over-seems to make my problems seem so small and I usually don't stay awake nearly as long as I used to.
